I don't know who came up with the idea of a lemonade stand but there we were out on our front sidewalk hawking our wares. Ostensibly it was just the kids doing the selling but it took a full family effort. Both the lemonade and popcorn were for sale for 25¢ which we thought was an amount that encouraged sales and was not greedy like the ridiculous $1 lemonade stands I have seen in the neighbourhood the past few years. We started off in front of our house but after half an hour we only had one sale so we moved the whole show up to the corner where it is busier and people were less able to ignore us. The initial idea was for a lemonade stand and then Matheo decided he wanted to sell popcorn. Then we decided that half the proceeds should go to buy 2 chickens via the World Vision website so our goal was to earn $50, half of which would go to buying chickens. We ended up grossing $67 as many people were quite generous and overpaid thanks to the charity angle.
